||The Chi Tau Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., which serves the Conyers and Covington area, will host a Read-In at Stonecrest Mall, at the Macy's mall entrance, on Saturday, February 9th from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. The purpose of the event is to emphasize the importance of reading by having members of Chi Tau Omega and members of the chapter's two youth groups, Emerging Young Leaders (EYL) and Ivy Prep, read in public. The event also coordinates with the National African American Read-In celebration and Black History Month. Attendees of the event will have the oppurtunity to watch a simulation of the "Sit-in at the Woolworth Counter," performed by members of EYL and Ivy Prep. There will also be a reading help center where parents and teachers can receive information useful in helping children become better readers. The event is free and open to the public. Please help Chi Tau Omega celebrate reading and Black History Month by attending the Read-In.
